Roof Cleaning by A&E was founded in 2008 by Eric Seitz, owner of A&E Painting, founded in 2003. As a contractor, Eric recognized a need for a way to remove black streaks, lichen and moss from existing roofs without the need to do a complete roof replacement saving the homeowner thousands of dollars. After doing some research he discovered the RCIA and became a certified roof cleaning contractor. Roof Cleaning by A&E only uses the methods recommended by the Asphalt Shingle Manufactures Association. During his research period, he discovered that many homeowners were having their roofs pressure washed to remove the black streaks, lichen and moss which will damage the asphalt shingles unlike the non pressure method used by Roof Cleaning by A&E. Pressure washing will remove the granules on the asphalt shingles that are there to protect the integrity of the shingle and shorten the roof’s lifespan. In addition to using our non pressure cleaning system on roofs, we have the ability to clean your home using the same soft washing method as used on your roof causing zero damage to delicate surfaces such as siding that can be damaged with high pressure cleaning methods. The addition of our roof cleaning and home exterior cleaning services has expanded the customer base of A&E Painting and helped grow our already established business.
